This beach provides a Fantasy Island experience, and it's walked on far less by humans than any other place on the Lincoln City beach, only accessible during a minus tide - (be sure the tide is going out) - you will find a private cove on the other side of the rocks, don't stay too long as you can easily get trapped and there is no other way out! There is something so idyllic and peaceful about this place you can easily convince yourself you're one of the first to ever have set foot here, or at least imagine your on a tropical beach somewhere. Find unique rock structures along the way, a mesmerizing surf and interesting geologic markings in the cliffs which tell the tales of all sorts of geologic activity over the years. Then return to your Blue Heron Vacation Rental Home to relax on the deck, or by the fireplace and watch the whales, the deer in the yard; or are you ready for a nice long soak in the jetted tub?

From mid October to Memorial Day, weather permitting, every day colorful hand-blown glass floats are placed on the beach. If you find a float, bring it to the visitor bureau to receive your certificate of authenticity and a biography of the artist who made the float.

Whale Watching and Deep Sea Fishing: About 200 gray whales live in the area year-round. You can see them without binoculars, from beach access areas or oceanfront hotel rooms. Or you can go on a boat trip for that purpose. For fishing or whale watching contact either Tradewinds Charters, (541) 765-2345 or Dockside Charters, (541) 765-2545 . These are generally hour-long trips, if it is just whale watching. The best thing to do is call ahead, after the 8 a.m. trip has returned. Then they know where the whales are and how much activity there is. Both companies are located in Depoe Bay, just 8 miles south of Lincoln City.
